About the Program

Playing an instrument can be one of the most rewarding experiences of a lifetime. Getting on stage, performing your favorite songs with bright lights, heavy guitar tones and powerful drums is what it’s all about. The feeling and adrenaline rush is hard to describe. The atmosphere and emotion music creates is addictive. That’s why we started “The Rock Academy” at Ron Zehel Guitar Center, to give you the excitement of the stage!

This new and exciting program in addition to private lessons, offers features you can’t get anywhere else. Playing together as a band, writing your own songs, stage presence, marketing, and booking gigs are just a few of the areas covered at “The Rock Academy.” Professional instructors work with each group weekly on every aspect needed to be a good, successful band. It’s your turn, see how easy it is to join and begin to Rock!

Program Outline

Avon Lake, OH

The rehearsal room has everything needed for a professional well run band practice. We provide the amps, drums, P.A. system, mics, keyboard, and anything else needed for a smooth easy rehearsal. Students are placed in bands based on age, genre of music, and skill level. Students are more than welcome to request to play in bands with their friends and come up with their own band name. Once students join, the instructor and band members will come up with a convenient time for rehearsals. Below are some of the benefits of being part of “The Rock Academy.”

Rock Academy Tuition

$90 per month

For students currently taking private lessons at Ron Zehel Guitar Center.

The fee covers four (4) one hour rehearsals a month with a professional instructor at each session working with your band.

Private Rehearsal

Does your band just want a “tune up” or some outside instruction? We offer 1 hour private band lesson with an instructor for $60.00. It’s amazing what can be cleaned up and fixed in an hour!

Tuition Policy

Tuition is due the first rehearsal of the month. We accept cash, check or debit/credit card. No credit issued for missed rehearsals. Should a time conflict arise, please notify us ASAP. If we have enough notice, rehearsal times may be rescheduled.

Scheduling Rehearsals

We understand that scheduling rehearsal times can be very challenging. As with our private lesson program, we try and keep a regular scheduled time each week. If a vacation, or other commitments arise, and we have ample notification, we can work around it. Two rehearsals a month every other week for two hours may work out best for your schedule, that’s fine with us.

Time Commitment

Like our lesson program, “The Rock Academy” is an ongoing program as well. Just like any sports team, consistent practice is essential for success. There is no contract for “The Rock Academy”. However, we ask that you commit to at least two consecutive months or through the next upcoming student concert performance so that your group has a chance to grow together as a band.

Private Lessons

All of our instructors have years of professional music experience that sets Ron Zehel Guitar Center of Avon Lake ahead of the rest. Besides lessons, you can perform in concerts throughout the year. We encourage students to jam with other musicians, and take the stage to further progress on their instrument. Our annual Holiday concert has been a tradition.

$90 per month

Payment is due the first week/lesson of each month. Please pay your instructor directly by check or cash.
We do not accept credit cards for lessons. All lessons are scheduled with your instructor, not through the store. A typical month is four(4) half hour lessons.
There is no credit for missed or cancelled lessons.
If you need to cancel, please let your instructor know 24- hours in advance. They will do their best to find a make-up time that works for both of you.
If you do not cancel within 24-hours or do not show up for your lesson, the lesson will not be rescheduled and we will not issue credit.
If your lesson falls on the day of a Holiday or your instructor needs to cancel, your lesson will be rescheduled at a time that works for both of you. Most can be rescheduled using a month with five weeks.
